As a tried and true home to the military, the Emerald Coast pulls out all the stops on Veterans Day. Here are a few events honoring veterans that are open to the public on Tuesday:
*Annual Veterans Day Ceremony, Beal Memorial Cemetery, 8 a.m. flag place-ment by Fort Walton Beach High School ROTC, 11 a.m. Freedom Bell to sound the start of the ceremony, Fort Walton Beach.
*Mary Esther Veterans Day Parade, 1 p.m., Santa Rosa Mall, Mary Esther.
* Wall Ceremony, 11 a.m., Okaloosa County Veterans Memorial at Main Street and Courthouse Terrace, Crestview.
* Veterans Day Ceremony and Flag Raising, Bob Hope Village, 9 a.m., Chief Master Sgt. Matthew S. Snoddy of Eglin’s 96th Test Wing to be guest speaker, Fort Walton Beach.
* Veterans Day Sidewalk Parade, 11 a.m., hamburgers and hot dogs to be served from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. after the march down Main Street to American Legion Post 296, Destin.
