Armed protesters continue to occupy a building at a national wildlife refuge in Oregon as they argue that father  and son Dwight Hammond, 73 and Steven Hammond, 46, who are headed back to prison are being sent there unfairly.

After a rally for the Hammonds on Saturday, armed militia, including sons of Cliven Bundy — who was involved in a standoff with the government over grazing rights in Nevada in 2014 — initiated the occupation of the headquarters of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

Ammon Bundy called the earlier rally successful, but said Sunday of the Wildlife Refuge standoff, “If we do not make a hard stand, we will be in a position where we won’t be able to as a people.”

Bundy said the occupying group is called “Citizens for Constitutional Freedom” and its purpose is to “restore and defend the Constitution.”

He said he came to the Burns, Oregon, area about eight weeks ago and met with the Hammonds “many, many times.”

“I watched them in tears multiple times,” he said.

Bundy today called the Hammonds a “good ranching family” and said they are going to prison for a crime they did not commit.

Just three years ago the two were convicted of burning “federal land” in Oregon. Dwight served three months in prison  on the conviction, and his son, Steven served one year. In October, however, a federal judge ruled the pair had served too little time under a federal anti-terrorism law that requires a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years for fires that damage public property but cause no injury or death. The two were ordered back to prison to serve four years each. They reported to prison to serve their sentences earlier today.

In the video below BPEarthWatch (www.bpearthwatch.com )breaks down the truth behind the armed occupation currently happening now and touches on blatant government corruption unfolding right under the noses of American tax payers.

According to The Washington Post, the FBI has taken the lead on the investigation of the federal building saying, that it will work with local and state authorities to seek “a peaceful resolution to the situation.”

“Due to safety considerations for both those inside the refuge as well as the law enforcement officers involved, we will not be releasing any specifics with regards to the law enforcement response,” the FBI said in a statement.
