The year we took back our Sovereignty ~ 2016

By Carla B.

Follow us:@EOTMPR on Twitter|EOTM.Media on Facebook

According to Wikipedia, Sovereignty is understood in jurisprudence as the full right and power of a governing body to govern itself without any interference from outside sources or bodies. In political theory, sovereignty is a substantive term designating supreme authority over some polity. It is a basic principle underlying the dominant Westphalian model of state foundation. Derived from Latin through French souveraineté, its attainment and retention, in both Chinese and Westernculture, has traditionally been associated with certain moral imperatives upon any claimant.

I AM sovereign and so are YOU

We must become sovereign — once again. Take back YOUR Sovereignty and truly live! We must become Sovereign and take back our planet. We must become our own authority and stop giving over our decision making process to the dark governmental/corporations, manipulative parents, teachers, friends, spouses, ect. It is time for us to become sovereign….again.

Can Darkness Become Our Light?

“Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore—    While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.“Tis some visitor,” I muttered, “tapping at my chamber door—  Only this and nothing more.  Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December; And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor. Eagerly I wished the morrow;—vainly I had sought to borrow — From my books surcease of sorrow—sorrow for the lost Lenore—For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore— Nameless here for evermore. And the silken, sad, uncertain rustling of each purple curtain — Thrilled me—filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before; So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating –  Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door— Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door;—  This it is and nothing more. Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer, Sir,  said I, or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore; But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping, And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door, That I scarce was sure I heard you—here I opened wide the door;—    Darkness there and nothing more. Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing — Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before; But the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token, And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, Lenore? This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, Lenore! — Merely this and nothing more. Back into the chamber turning, all my soul within me burning, Soon again I heard a tapping somewhat louder than before. Surely, said I, surely that is something at my window lattice; Let me see, then, what thereat is, and this mystery explore — Let my heart be still a moment and this mystery explore; Tis the wind and nothing more! Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter,In there stepped a stately Raven of the saintly days of yore; not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he; But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door –Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door — Perched, and sat, and nothing more.

Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling, By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore, Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou, I said, art sure no craven — Ghastly grim and ancient Raven wandering from the Nightly shore — Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night’s Plutonian shore! Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.” Much I marveled this ungainly fowl to hear discourse so plainly, Though its answer little meaning—little relevancy bore; For we cannot help agreeing that no living human being ever yet was blessed with seeing bird above his chamber door— Bird or beast upon the sculptured bust above his chamber door, With such name as “Nevermore.” But the Raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only that one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.  Nothing farther then he uttered—not a feather then he fluttered –  Till I scarcely more than muttered “Other friends have flown before — On the morrow he will leave me, as my Hopes have flown before. Then the bird said “Nevermore.” Startled at the stillness broken by reply so aptly spoken,“Doubtless,” said I, “what it utters is its only stock and store — Caught from some unhappy master whom unmerciful Disaster Followed fast and followed faster till his songs one burden bore –Till the dirges of his Hope that melancholy burden bore  Of ‘Never—nevermore’.”  But the Raven still beguiling all my fancy into smiling, Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in front of bird, and bust and door; Then, upon the velvet sinking, I betook myself to linking — Fancy unto fancy, thinking what this ominous bird of yore— What this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt, and ominous bird of yore  meant in croaking “Nevermore.” This I sat engaged in guessing, but no syllable expressing — To the fowl whose fiery eyes now burned into my bosom’s core; This and more I sat divining, with my head at ease reclining  on the cushion’s velvet lining that the lamp-light gloated o’er, But whose velvet-violet lining with the lamp-light gloating o’er,  She shall press, ah, nevermore!  Then, methought, the air grew denser, perfumed from an unseen censer swung by Seraphim whose foot-falls tinkled on the tufted floor. “Wretch,” I cried, “thy God hath lent thee—by these angels he hath sent thee  — respite—respite and nepenthe from thy memories of Lenore; Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe and forget this lost Lenore!” Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”  “Prophet!” said I, “thing of evil!—prophet still, if bird or devil! –Whether Tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore, Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted –  On this home by Horror haunted—tell me truly, I implore— Is there—is there balm in Gilead?—tell me—tell me, I implore!” Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”     “Prophet!” said I, “thing of evil!—prophet still, if bird or devil! By that Heaven that bends above us—by that God we both adore—  Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn, It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore— Clasp a rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore.” Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”  Be that word our sign of parting, bird or fiend!” I shrieked, upstarting—“Get thee back into the tempest and the Night’s Plutonian shore!  Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken! Leave my loneliness unbroken!—quit the bust above my door!
Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!” Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.” — And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting on the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door; and his eyes have all the seeming of a demon’s that is dreaming, and the lamp-light o’er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor; and my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor — Shall be lifted—nevermore!

The darkness of night expresses what for each of us holds as a potential for change. A transformation of sorts. And WE are Not alone in our dark night…for all others too…must journey through this phase of life. As we age and sage, we must also recognize that there will always be a time where significant change can happen, for without which we may remain as children …who have not yet made the journey into wholeness. This later stage marks the point where many of us accept the literal interpretation, to when we put on the mind of Christ — ready to tackle the challenges of an unjust world.

John of the Cross theology takes us to the origin of Christianity, for example in Acts 17:27, Paul says; So they would search for God..though indeed he is not far from each one of us.

In this passage we see that John had the awareness that God transcended and was creator of all matter and is a compassionate presence in a world that suffers. In this great work of the dark night he makes use of metaphor, and the allegorical content of his poem is focused on the journey with the search to seek and find, inner TRUTH.

A most beautiful passage from The Songs of Songs (page 484) tells us:

Upon my bed at night I sought him whom my soul loves; I sought him, but found him not; I called him, but he gave no answer. I will rise now and go about the city, in the streets and in the squares; I will seek him who my soul loves.” (Holy Bible NRSV-2008. Oxford Press, USA).

Now John says; One dark night, fired with loves urgent longing I slipped out unseen -my house being all still.

In this dark night the internal fire is lit and although the house is described as being still — the soul remains restless. It is where in our aged years we find our senses start to deteriorate, but we still have the capacity to be enabled to transform, and God waits… and comforts us with his presence. The gift of consolation through love. This is where we drop away from all pretense, all striving…even though we still might be searching for life’s true meaning. Bottom line, the dark night is a stage of transcendence — a point of no return and the watchers on the streets do little but hamper us in our efforts, day and night! We learn a lot as when we awaken and  reshape our life. It is one where we also experience a greater sense of being free, of that unburdening of our self. We might have regret , we may have to admit failures, we may suffer, experience illness and so on. We may well question the meaning of our life, what it has once been …and now become. And when we transit through and transcend — our wisdom increases and we share that wisdom with others to lead them through the fog of their darkness. — #Namaste #Love #Humanity #Wins

Will a Tsunami hit America’s East Coast in 2015??

What does past climate change tell us about global warming?

Science says: Climate reacts to whatever forces it to change; humans are now the dominant force.

A common skeptic argument is that climate has changed naturally in the past, long before SUVs and coal-fired power plants, so therefore humans cannot be causing global warming now. Interestingly, the peer-reviewed research into past climate change comes to the opposite conclusion. To understand this, first you have to ask why climate has changed in the past. It doesn’t happen by magic. Climate changes when it’s forced to change. When our planet suffers an energy imbalance and gains or loses heat, global temperature changes.

There are a number of different forces which can influence the Earth’s climate. When the sun gets brighter, the planet receives more energy and warms. When volcanoes erupt, they emit particles into the atmosphere which reflect sunlight, and the planet cools. When there are more greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, the planet warms. These effects are referred to as external forcings because by changing the planet’s energy balance, they force climate to change. Standing Tall, STAND Up to Bullying & Live – Spoken Word

By Carla B.

Stand Up, Stand Tall & Stop Bullying

Unless you’ve directly experienced bullying, you may not realize just how devastating it can be, especially to a child or teenager. As well as being deeply hurtful, bullying can leave anyone feeling frightened, angry, depressed, and totally undermined. All this being said, bullying should never be tolerated. Whether you’re the one being bullied, or you’re a teacher or parent who thinks their child is being bullied or engaged in bullying behavior, there are things you can do to keep yourself and the kids you know safe from bullying. See tips below.

For more information on this, please visit StopBulllying.Gov .

A long lost nugget – Bullying Poem

As I was purging old files– cleaning my hard-drive I found a poem I wrote back in 2005 (see below) — I recited this one on many occasions, back in the day at the Apache Cafe in Atlanta. It was written as inspiration for myself; my children, your son, daughter, friend, niece, nephew, sister, uncle, brother, cousin, mother, father –  anyone or quite possibly, even some grandmothers child that may be in need of encouraging words to get through this devastating stage. It saddens me to admit, 10 years later — unfortunately, the act of bullying is still very much in the forefront of America. However, we can get past this….with love… cause love is all we really need.

“Standing Tall”

This is for the strong — this is for those who were never considered to be on the homecoming court or prom.  For the geeks, dreamers, the retards, freaks and less than strong. Yes, for the rejects — even the preps that wanted to be on their own — because in every popular clique there was a reject too — someone who tried to challenge the rest of the preps, even when it wasn’t cool.  That one, that would make fun of everyone equally even you — but in the end after all the rest left, they would talk to you …through the day, they would say: “hey are you okay,” after all the other kids that were cracking on you walked away.  Cause it’s hard to be the bigger of the two — it’s hard to stand up to the many, when you are a part of the few.

Help End Bullying -- EOTM Media

To those with the shyness and mild mannered tone. The ones that locked themselves in their rooms to try and find their souls — for all those that couldn’t run home, when they were placed in a corner with multiple peers surrounding them — making fun of their clothes, their hair and style. I’m here to tell you that you didn’t have to be them. You don’t have to be them. I said: you don’t have to be them.  Understand, that in you… there is greatness. Regardless of all the snide remarks and talking behind your back — realize that after being attacked — you can still make a comeback.  Because you can stand.  When those kids try to force you to sit down — You can withstand with your spirit, you can pick yourself up off the ground.  You can stand!  You can be the bigger one. Forgive those who were riding you. This is for all the kids that never fit in — who were plastered with labels and never wanted to be in the boxes that everyone else trapped themselves in.  This is for the little boys and girls — lost in the bodies of grown ass women and men — who have the same bullies in their bosses, relationships, and in their friends.  This is for all of you and all of them. Cause see —  adults aren’t far from where all of you have been.  We still have the same frustrations, ill-wills and broken dreams.

Audiobook Downloads at Audible.co.ukWe so called grown-ups try to hide behind our shiny jobs and shiny things –  but every once in awhile we remember what it was like — we remember that we didn’t always agree with what the teacher said was right — and we would fight. So when I sit at my desk — and there seems to be no end in sight — I think of you all…for this is for all of you —  and understand that you don’t have to be them. I said: YOU don’t have to be them. You didn’t have to be them. You can stand. Yes, YOU can still stand!

What to Do If You’re Bullied

  • Look at the kid bullying you and tell him or her to stop in a calm, clear voice. You can also try to laugh it off. This works best if joking is easy for you. It could catch the kid bullying you off guard.
  • If speaking up seems too hard or not safe, walk away and stay away. Find an adult to stop the bullying on the spot!

There are many more steps you can take to deal with this issue. If you or someone you know is being bullied, feels suicidal amidst it all, please call 1-800-273-TALK (8255) in the U.S., or visit IASP or Suicide.org to find a helpline in your area.

The Atlanta Journal Constitutionreports that the dispute started when Angie Stone, 53, entered her daughter’s room, and demanded that she clean it up and control her children, who were running around the singer’s home half naked.

“Ms. Diamond Stone then went on to state that Ms. Angie Stone started (getting) in her face, telling her she needed to leave because she is tired (of) her,” police said in the report. “Ms. Diamond Stone then stated her and Ms. Angie Stone started to argue, and that’s when a physical altercation started to occur.”

Angie Stone, 53, told police she did not know she hit her daughter with a metal stand.

Academy Awards 2015: Winners, Highlights, Best Moments & More…

You know what’s the best? When you have super high expectations—like we did for the 2015 Oscars red carpet—and they aren’t just meet they are far surpassed.

Oscars host Neil Patrick Harris wasted no time kicking off a stormy 87th Academy Awards and conceding the ceremony’s much-discussed lack of diversity.

“Tonight we honor Hollywood’s best and whitest — I mean brightest,” said Harris in a Dolby Theater introduction Sunday. Harris’ opening quickly segued into a “Moving Pictures” song-and-dance routine that celebrated a love for movies, complete with dancing Peter Pan-style shadows, classic movie scenes, a Cinderella-style cameo from Anna Kendrick and a villain to his sunny outlook in Jack Black — who jumped on stage to counter that Hollywood wasn’t so fabulous, making movies “opening with lots of zeroes, all we get is superheroes.”

“After ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’” Black added, referring to this weekend’s top box office draw, “they’ll all have leather whips.”

The night’s first Oscar went to J.K. Simmons, a career character actor widely acclaimed for one of his biggest parts: a drill sergeant of a jazz band instructor in the indie “Whiplash.” Simmons fittingly accepted his supporting acting Oscar with some straightforward advice.

“If I may, call your mom, everybody,” said Simmons. “Call your mom, call your dad. If you’re lucky enough to have a parent or two alive on this planet, call ‘em. Don’t text. Don’t email. Call them on the phone. Tell ‘em you love ‘em, and thank them, and listen to them for as long as they want to talk to you.”

Patricia Arquette accepted the supporting actress Oscar for her role as the mother in Richard Linklater’s 12-years-in-the-making “Boyhood,” and delivered a rousing speech calling for wage equality and equal rights for women that had Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lopez among those cheering in the audience.

Two of the night’s early awards went to Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel”: costume design, and makeup and styling. The European caper — released back around last year’s Academy Awards — could be the night’s unlikely leader in trophies, rewarding the hand-made craft of Anderson’s latest confection. Later in the telecast, the film picked up a third prize for best production design.

Disney’s “Big Hero 6″ — based on a Marvel comic about a team of superheroes — won best animated feature, coming out victorious in a category that sparked controversy because of the omission of what many considered a certain nominee: “The Lego Movie.”

The black-and-white Polish film “Ida” took best foreign language film, marking the first such win for Poland despite a rich cinema history. Director Pawel Pawlikowski charmed the audience with a bemused acceptance speech that ran drastically over his allotted time.

Pawlikowski remarked on having made a quiet film of contemplation about withdrawing from the world, “and here we are at the epicenter of noise and attention. It’s fantastic. Life is full of surprises.”

Harris, a frequent Tony Awards host, struck a chipper tone, while slyly mocking the Oscars. The $160,000 gift bags for attendees, he said, came with “an armored car ride to safety when the revolution comes.” The performance by Tegan and Sara and Andy Samberg’s Lonely Island of the Oscar-nominated song “Everything Is Awesome” from “The Lego Movie,” let some live out their Oscar dreams, handing out golden Lego statuettes to Oprah Winfrey and Steve Carell.

Heading into the telecast, the Academy Awards were buzzing with something it hasn’t always had in recent years: genuine intrigue at who the night’s biggest winners will be.

RELATED - ‘EOTM Atlanta Media Mogul,’ Rahn Anthoni Covers The 2015 Oscars

Three of the night’s top honors — best picture, best director and best actor — are tight races proving hard to predict for even the most seasoned experts.

With a co-leading nine nominations, Alejandro Inarritu’s backstage comedy “Birdman (or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)” has the strongest wind at its back. It topped the acting, directing and producing guild awards, which are often strong predictors of what the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences will vote for. The film also won best feature at Saturday’s Independent Film Spirit Awards, further boosting its momentum.

But the coronation of “Birdman” is far from assured. Many believe the landmark of “Boyhood” will ultimately prove irresistible to academy members. Best director also appears to be a toss-up between Inarritu and Linklater.

Three of the acting winners — Julianne Moore (“Still Alice”), Simmons (“Whiplash”) and Arquette (“Boyhood”) — were virtual locks heading into Sunday’s show, but best actor will be a nail biter. It could be the young British star Eddie Redmayne for his technically nuanced performance as Stephen Hawking in “The Theory of Everything,” or it could be Michael Keaton’s career-topper in “Birdman,” as an actor trying to flee his superhero past.

But whether suspense will be enough to pull viewers to the telecast on ABC remains to be seen. Harris will hope to continue the recent ratings upswing for the Oscars, which last year drew 43 million viewers, making it the most-watched entertainment telecast in a decade.

This year’s crop of nominees, however, is notably light on box-office smashes. Clint Eastwood’s “American Sniper” (six nominations including best picture) is the only best-picture candidate to gross more than $100 million domestically. (A runaway hit, it recently surpassed $300 million.)

Increasingly, ratings are driven by moments that spark social media frenzy, like when John Travolta famously mispronounced the name of singer Idina Menzel as “Adele Dazeem” at last year’s show. Sunday night, he gets a chance for redemption.

Bobbi Kristina Brown Not Removed From Life Support

Just 5 days after the only child of the late, great singer Whitney Houston Bobbi Kristina was found face down in a bath tub at her home in Roswell, Georgia her family is purportedly contemplating on whether they will discontinue life support.

To recap, the 21 year old was found unresponsive in a bath-tub at the home she shared with long time beau/husband, Nick Gordon on Saturday. According to multiple reports, Bobbi was placed in a medically-induced coma and was reported to be breathing with the help of a ventilator. During tests for brain activity, she briefly opened her eyes and doctors found ‘minimal’ improvement in her brain function.

As many fans may remember Houston died in a bathtub from an ‘accidental’ drug overdose almost exactly three years ago, in tragically similar circumstances. Authorities found a dozen prescription drug bottles in her Beverly Hills Hotel suite and listed heart disease and cocaine use as contributors, but concluded that she accidentally drowned.

As to Bobbi , according to TMZ, family and friends are coming to the hospital to say goodbye.

Her father, singer Bobby Brown released a statement to let everyone know “the truth,” about his daughters condition:

”If we issued a statement every time the media published a false report regarding this matter, that’s all we would be doing 24 hours a day. This is false, just as is the vast majority of the other reporting that is currently taking place.”

As of Thursday Bobbi Kristina was reportedly still on life support, despite multiple mainstream media outlets reporting otherwise.

Interestingly, Attorney Christopher Brown, of Brown & Rosen issued a statement in regards to her ‘marriage’ with Gordon.

“We are currently investigating the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina. To correct earlier reports, Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon. We continue to request privacy in this matter. Please allow for our family to deal with this matter and give Bobbi Kristina the love and support she needs at this time.”

Although there is no official word on Bobbi Kristina improving, it is still a relief to know that her father and the doctors at Emory University Hospital have not given up on her yet.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with Bobbi Kristina and her family in their time of need.
