NBC Skips 9/11 Moment, Runs Kardashian Interview (via NewsLook)
NBC is under fire for choosing to air an interview with Kardashian mom Kris Jenner instead of the moment of silence at the World Trade Center.
President Barack Obama lauded American unity Tuesday as the country marked a somber but low-key anniversary of the 9/11 attacks under crisp blue skies poignantly reminiscent of 11 years ago. “The true legacy of 9/11 will not be one of fear or hate or division,” Obama said at the Pentagon near Washington…

Tuesday, September 11th marks the 11 year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. People from all over the world will reflect and remember the fallen. Just as past generations still take time to remember travesties like Pearl Harbor and the JFK assassination.
September 11, 2001
It was a day where words failed us. Images of a airplane crashing into the Twin Towers and the resulting fire and black clouds of smoke will be seared into our minds for a lifetime, I am sure.
Sitting at my desk in horror, watching ABC news via my computer screen, colleagues huddling around my monitor, lump in my throat…wanting to scream… but nothing would come out.
Over a decade later I have a better grasp of my emotions and exactly what we lost. Not only the heart wrenching loss of over 3000 innocent civilians but ‘something‘ more…
Praying we will be able to get that ‘something’ back… in my lifetime…my children’s life time.
The United States of America is a powerful nation indeed, however we still live in an “America,” whereas war can have no ending…because we have no clear purpose…no clear adversary. We are not just fighting nations; we are fighting civilians, mercenaries, religious ideologies and millionaires.
In the war against terrorism, there will never be an “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month,” it will always be 9/11.
And eleven years later, we haven’t forgotten.
We have progressed….spreading freedom around the world. We stood our ground…said this would not stand, that those responsible would be brought to justice—and that’s exactly what we did.
We recognize that all our service men and women and emergency responders have given something of themselves to their community and their country and some have given all — laying down their lives to defend the freedoms we hold so dear.
Today, we especially honor those who have given their lives in the defense of liberty and recognize everyone who has worn the uniform of this great nation….?
To all our veterans and emergency responders EOTM thanks you…all of your for your service! You serve as an example to inspire others who follow in your footsteps.
“We are Americans, and we will protect and preserve the country we love. On this solemn anniversary, let’s remember those we lost, let us reaffirm the values they stood for, and let us keep moving forward as one nation and one people.” Carla B.
Obama said the decade since the attacks “has been a difficult one,” but encouraged Americans to see this year’s anniversary as “a chance to honor” those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
Obama and first lady will gather Tuesday morning on the White House lawn for a moment of silence. Afterwards, they’ll attend a memorial at the Pentagon and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, according to White House spokesman Jay Carney.
For many the memory is still embedded of the day when “Al-Qaeda hijackers” slammed two passenger planes into the World Trade Center in New York, destroying its the Twin Towers, and a third into the Pentagon building, in the nation’s capital. A fourth plane crashed in a Pennsylvania field when the passengers attempted to overpower the hijackers.
Almost 3,000 people were killed in the worst attacks on American soil.
Without any detailed knowledge on the part of any government agency, many 9 11 conspiracy theorist bring compelling arguments. They believe that the World Trade Center buildings were demolished by bombs, phone calls from the planes were made up, and the former President George W. Bush secretly profited from the attacks.
Advocates of these conspiracy theories claim there are inconsistencies in the official conclusions, or evidence which was overlooked.
Despite it all, eleven years later, that’s the legacy of 9 11, the ability to say with confidence that no adversary and no act of terrorism can change who we are. We are Americans, and we will protect and preserve this country we love.
